Formed in Tokyo in 2016 by bassist Miho and drummer Haruna, LOVEBITES emerged with a clear and defiant mission: to play authentic, uncompromising European-style Power Metal and classic British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) without compromise. While many modern bands lean into electronic pop hybrids, LOVEBITES embraces soaring twin-guitar harmonies reminiscent of Iron Maiden, Helloween, and Judas Priest, powered by the classical piano foundations of Miyako and the lightning-fast sweep picking of Midori.
Their signature visual presentation—performing on stage exclusively dressed in immaculate white gowns—creates a striking visual contrast to the ferocious speed, double-bass drum onslaughts, and technical complexity of their music.
International Acclaim & Festival Triumph
LOVEBITES didn't just conquer Japan; they achieved rapid international recognition. In 2018, just two years after their inception, they traveled to London and took home the prestigious Best New Band award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.
They subsequently became the first all-female Japanese heavy metal act to perform on the main stages of Europe's largest metal festivals, including Germany's legendary Wacken Open Air, the UK's Bloodstock Open Air, and Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting, earning praise from metal titans such as DragonForce and Halestorm.
Musical Architecture & The Modern Era
Following a temporary hiatus and the departure of founding bassist Miho in 2021, the band held global auditions and welcomed prodigy bassist Fami, known for her extraordinary slap bass technique and jazz-metal chops. Their comeback album, Judgment Day (2023), debuted at #5 on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart, reaffirming their status as premier ambassadors of global metal virtuosity.
